What we deliver in Washington
Washington is a 1960s new town and a lot of its original boundary fencing is now reaching wholesale-replacement age. We do a lot of whole-section runs — phased so nobody loses their back garden overnight. Trade supply to landlords managing the original Washington Development Corporation housing is regular work. Gate posts for driveway entrances on the newer Springwell and Lambton estates round out the volume.
Local notes & access
The original Washington estate fencing was light spec — 3×3 posts at 1.8m centres with thin rails. Most of what we replace now we upgrade to 4×3 concrete-set with proper 3.6m rails, which gives a much longer life. Heavy clay soil in pockets around Ayton and Usworth — rapid-set postcrete is a must, not a nice-to-have.
Whole-section estate fencing replacement — how do you handle it?
For runs of 30m+ where multiple neighbours are involved, we plan a phased install so each garden has its back boundary up overnight. Typical sequence: agree spec with all parties, lift old posts on day one, set new posts day two (concrete cure), fit rails and boards day three. Trade pricing kicks in over 20m.
