This Privacy Policy describes how Fencing Northeast ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and discloses your personal information when you visit our website, request a quote, place an order, or otherwise communicate with us. We are the data controller for the personal information we collect about you.

What we collect
- Contact details — name, postal address, phone, email — when you submit a quote, order, sign up, or contact us.
- Order information — billing and shipping address, items ordered, payment confirmation.
- Quote information — fence type, run length, postcode, photos/videos and any details you submit.
- WhatsApp opt-in — if you tick the box, we record that you've consented to be contacted by WhatsApp on the phone number you provided.
- Communications — content of emails, calls and form messages you send us.
- Usage data — pages visited, device, browser, IP, referrer, via cookies and similar technologies.
How we use it
- Fulfilling orders — processing payments, arranging delivery, sending confirmations. Legal basis: contract performance.
- Responding to quotes — replying with a written quote, scheduling site surveys. Legal basis: pre-contract steps at your request / legitimate interest.
- Customer support — returns, questions, after-sales. Legal basis: contract / legitimate interest.
- Marketing — stock alerts and seasonal offers, only with your opt-in. You can unsubscribe at any time. Legal basis: consent.
- Site improvement & security — analytics, bug fixing, fraud detection. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
- Legal obligations — tax records, consumer law records.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for site functioning (checkout, login), analytics cookies to understand site usage, and — with your consent — marketing cookies. Manage via the banner on first visit or your browser settings at any time.
Who we share information with
- Payment processor (Square) — to take payment and prevent fraud. We do not see or store your full card details.
- Delivery and logistics partners — to deliver your order.
- Email and form providers (Zoho) — to send transactional and (with consent) marketing email.
- CRM (Zoho) — to track your enquiry through to a completed order.
- Hosting (Hostinger) — to serve this website.
- Site analytics providers — to understand site usage in aggregate.
- Professional advisers — accountants, lawyers, insurers where reasonably needed.
- Authorities — where required by law.
We do not sell your personal information.
WhatsApp messaging
If you opt-in to WhatsApp contact, we use Meta's WhatsApp platform to send quote details, follow-ups and photos. WhatsApp's own privacy policy applies to the platform; we send only what's needed for your quote. You can withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP or emailing info@fencingnortheast.co.uk.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as necessary. Order and tax records: 6 years from the end of the relevant tax year. Marketing consent: until withdrawn. Quote enquiries that don't lead to an order: up to 24 months for follow-up.
